MY STORY

Who am I?

My name is Patty Denton, former founder of a beloved accessories and interior design shop called The Lilac Tree.  After sometime away pursuing a new career opportunity, I began to realize that my life was not complete without family.  I have three amazing sons, daughter-in-laws and seven grandchildren, which are my greatest accomplishment in life.  Therefore, I decided to return to Jackson to enjoy family, great friends and share in the events that shape their lives.

Design has always been part of my entire career.  Starting with product development and purchasing for Jacobson's.  I learned the retail business during my 24-year career as a purchasing agent for Jacobson's.  I have traveled the world including Europe and Asia, which I learned where the gems are hidden.

 I'm thrilled to share my latest venture which is true reflection of my journey.  Design Inspired will provide my customers with full service interior design.  Products offered will be furniture, home accessories, lighting, flooring, artwork, and window treatments.  I’m so excited about my new venture, for I will be able to live my passion and create unique living spaces for my clients that will truly be one of kind. 

I opened The Lilac Tree in 2002 which originally offered art and accessories, and eventually grew into a full home store including furniture.  During the ten years of business and the love of design, The Lilac Tree's focus became interior design.  

In addition to the store I developed a consulting business for people who desired to own their own retail stores.  I successfully assisted in opening three additional stores in various locations. 

After ten years of business at The Lilac Tree and looking for a new challenge, I sold the business and moved into the world of wholesale. I developed a collection of unique home accessories and holiday decor, traveling mostly to Asia, importing products to create beautiful collections. It was an amazing experience which gave me the opportunity to develop products from there initial conception into complete collections. An experience that I will always cherish.

WHAT INSPIRES ME?

I have always been passionate about Architecture and Design.

The world has an amazing influence on design and how it evolves throughout time.  My worldly travels have inspired my design ideas and abilities to transform my client’s ideas into reality. 

Design Inspired is influenced by years of exposure to design, product development, and customer satisfaction. In my years of designing I have always focused on my customer’s needs and life styles. Creating unique spaces in their homes that they fall in love with. It is their satisfaction that inspires me to continue the journey.
